For the class of 2017, the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board submitted the nominees for consideration. For future classes, any interested party will be able to submit a nominee for consideration by the Selection Committee. Once the list of nominees is closed for the year, the nominees will then be subject to a screening vote. To move past the screening vote, each nominee must receive 80 percent approval from the Selection Committee for further consideration.
Since this was the first major activity of the Hall of Fame in several years, the Board decided to allow up to four new inductees for 2017. For future years, it is planned to allow three new inductees every two years. The site of the induction ceremony will be chosen at the time, based upon the prevailing situation.
